.003 Session 3

1. What did you get out of this particular lesson?

2. The Bible reveals that wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. Margaret writes, “We are invited to obtain wisdom—a portion, any amount no matter how small—from his storehouse. As we stare into the depths of wisdom, it enters our hearts, and its presence becomes pleasant and luminous to our soul. Wisdom takes on a life of its own as it grows and comes alive within us, directing us, protecting us, and leading us into the life God intended.” Where do you think most people today get their wisdom from? Why do you think people turn to so many other sources besides God for wisdom?

3. Margaret says that throughout the Bible we see that God speaks through kings and queens, princes and prophets, pilgrim sand paupers. When you think about moments when God spoke in Scripture, what moments come to mind?

My group discussed the way God speaks at length, and loved it. We all had "heard" God's voice in many ways, sometimes almost as though it were audible, and other times through repeated messages from speakers, friends, ministers, etc. within a short period of time. OK, I get it God! In my experience, when I've heard an audible voice, He immediately draws my mind to a special scripture passage to confirm that it is Him speaking. Those are aha moments that will be etched in my memory forever.

I ca see what All_for_Him is saying. At first I thought it was going to be too "fluffy" and feel good...

But I am impressed with the Scripture references and though some of the points seem repeated, that's ok, because some points are worth repeating.

I am blessed to have a firm understanding of my identity in Christ, but I notice that many people do not have the same assurances yet, so I appreciate the the lingering over God's love towards us.

BSF it's not, but that's ok. The Organic God is refreshing and worth while.

God has spoken to me when I've needed Him the most. One time it was as simple as a vision of a church to stop me from doing something that I knew I shouldn't. Another time I was VERY upset at the unfair treatment of others and the amount of undeserved persecution we were going through and He simply reminded me of all the punishments and persecution and even death He endured for no reason except living a sinful, righteous life and helping others do the same. I couldn't dispute that. Another time He printed large, capital letters of one word in my face - PRIDE. At first I couldn't see what pride had to do with my reasoning, but He considered it pride so I dug further...
He will speak to us, especially in our lowest, humblest, most desperate moments. He wants to talk to us and thrives on His people talking to Him and listening to His voice.

My group seemed very shallow in knowing characters that God spoke to. I was disappointed because I didn't want to dominate the conversation but I thought of soooo many great times when God spoke. I think of Jonah first of all. He spoke to Jonah quite boldly but like me many times, he blew Him off and not only did he just go about his business, he flipped a U-turn and went the opposite direction! God cared enough for Jonah not to chose someone else but to pursue Jonah even in his disobedience. I love Jonah's heart as the waves crashed and his conscience came out. He knew he did wrong. God saved Jonah from himself and spoke again and gave Jonah a second chance. Who doesn't love God for that?

I have to say I think this is one of the deepest studies I've ever been in. I've been a christian and done everything from Beth Moore(my favorite) to BSF,CBS et.. I'm a seasoned believer with an open heart to learn and let God be more and more real to me everyday. This is a real heart study which you need to take hours of soul searching to let God be transparent in your life. Groups need to be vulnerable and follow Margarets example in actually "not looking like your perfect and never sinned..since you are a Christian you know..." That's what I love the most about this study. When the writer is truthful and real it is catchy and promotes honesty in the heart for all. Thank you Margaret, I appreciate God's grace in your sharing.

We've started this study during a weekly lunch hour. Tho' we're not able to do the dvd's and go into depth with each lesson, we have been blessed, not only with the scriptures but with a "genuine stirring of our spirit hungering and thirsting for an "organic relationship with God.

We are currently up to Session 3 and I just had to share that so far, this session has really, really ministered to us as a group and me individually.

When I read in the book how Wisdom's "companions" were discernment, understanding, knowledge, justice, etc....Wow, The Lord burned my heart with this. I had to confess that all along, I had been praying incorrectly.
All along, i've been praying for more "discernment"...but right there clearly, God says: Get wisdom first and then, discernment (which is insight with understanding and interpretation) are the products/companions of wisdom.
This then led me to Isaiah 11 where the Word says that the root of Jesse (Jesus) was clothed with the Spirit of Wisdom and the Spirit of Counsel and the Spirit Revelation and Knowledge.

An organic relationship is to have wisdom in the center of your heart and that is what enables us to "Walk in the Spirit" (as in Isaiah 11.
Thank you Father...and thank you Margaret!
